Interview Outlines

Interview Outlines is an AI-powered feature that generates a timestamped overview of interviews, highlighting key moments for the technical team so they don’t need to manually review through the entire playback.

✅ This feature is currently included with Enterprise and Custom plans for a limited time.

How it works:

Outlines uses AI to analyze code playback and interview transcripts (if enabled and if participants agree to to be transcribed) to create clickable sections for each part of the interview, allowing users to jump to moments such as:

• Task Setup
• Implementation
• Testing
• Optimizations
• Wrap-up

If Interview Transcription is disabled, Outlines generate a similar but more limited summary based solely on the code playback. Outlines are automatically created for all pads after they are ended.

Enabling and Disabling Outlines

Admins can turn Outlines on or off from Organization Settings at any time. Make sure AI Generated Interview Outline is turned on. When the feature is enabled, Outlines will be generated for all pads.

✅ We also strongly recommend turning on Transcription to generate the most detailed overview in Outlines.

Reviewing Interview Outlines

• Interview Outlines are available in the code playback — which means that the pad must be ended to generate Outlines. Note that the Outlines may take a few moments to generate.
• The copy button lets you copy the full outline to your clipboard, to share with other team members or post to your ATS.

FAQs

What will the candidate experience be like? 

Candidates will never be able to view Outlines. If Candidates consent to transcription, the transcript will be referenced to generate their interview’s Outline. If they do not, only the code they write during the interview will be referenced.

Can the candidate opt out?

The candidate can opt out of having Transcription incorporated into the outline by opting out of Transcription.

What service is used to generate Outlines?

OpenAI

If the feature is turned off at the organizational level, does it generate Outlines anyway?

No. Outlines require organizational-level activation.

How long are Outlines saved?

They are saved as long as the pad is stored. Deleting a pad deletes its transcripts, highlights, and outlines. Using the Auto-pad-deletion setting will remove them automatically along with the deleted pad on your selected time frame.
