FAQs for Candidates
Technical Details

If you’re new to CoderPad, please take a quick look through our getting started guides at the bottom of this page! They will get you on the right track and answer many of your questions. If you can’t find the answer to your question in the guides, we’re happy to help at support@coderpad.io.

You will not be charged unless you upgrade to a paid plan during your trial. If you do not upgrade to a paid plan, you will be added to our limited Free plan at the end of your free 7 day trial.

There’s a free plan! If you sign up for a trial but do not upgrade, you will be automatically enrolled in our Free plan, which provides two free pads per month. These sessions are automatically ended after a few days. The Free plan also allows unlimited use of the practice Sandbox.

No, for plans paid by credit card you pay only one month at a time. Once you sign up for a paid plan on our website, you will be billed monthly on the same day every month. You can cancel your paid account at any time under Billing by clicking “Cancel Paid Plan”, switching to the Free plan, or by contacting us. Please keep in mind we do not offer refunds for unused partial months. If you’d like to discuss a longer term contract for your company’s needs, just fill out the form located here to request more information.

CoderPad pricing is based on your plan type (and free for candidates). Paid company plans start at $50 per month for a Personal plan and range up to $750 per month for a Business plan. Custom solutions are available for Enterprise organizations, just fill out the form located here to request more information.

We accept credit card payments via Stripe for any of the plans listed on our pricing page. We can invoice you for annual Team or Business and Enterprise plans. Invoices can be paid by ACH, check or credit card.

Under Billing, an account owner can choose a larger or smaller plan that better fits your company’s needs at any time. You will be charged a prorated amount for the percentage of the month you use each plan. You can also enable overage pads if you’re in between plan sizes (see below). If you’ve outgrown our self-serve plans, please email support@coderpad.io to request information on Enterprise plans.

Once you’ve reached your monthly pad limit, you’ll receive a notification and you will have the option to upgrade your plan or wait until the start of your next billing cycle when your pad quota refreshes. Alternatively, you can enable overage pads through your dashboard, which will allow creation of additional pads for $15 each beyond your standard plan quota. You will be charged for overage pads at the beginning of your next billing cycle. Additional details are available at Overage Billing.

Your quota refreshes at the time and date listed on your Usage page. That page also shows the number of pads you have remaining until your next refresh.

We store interviews forever and you can review them as many times as you like. Code is recorded keystroke by keystroke, and execution output is also saved.

Deleting a pad is permanent! Please only use the delete button if you’re certain you and everyone at your company will never need to access this pad again. Pads in the “Unused” state that are deleted within 28 days from the date they were created are returned to your quota. Pads that were created more than 28 days ago, or pads that are in the “In Progess” or “Ended” state, are not returned to your quota if deleted.

Yes! You can start video calls from within CoderPad by clicking the “Start Call” button during any interview and having your candidate do the same. Interviewers and candidates can test connectivity before an interview at https://networktest.twilio.com/

Candidates can’t see any sensitive information on the interviewer side, including your question library or private notes. Once you end the interview, if a candidate returns to that page, they are shown a notice explaining that the interview is over and its contents have been made private.

You can find information about the languages we support and the available libraries on our Languages page.

Yes! CoderPad lets you upload up to 5mb of raw SQL to create custom databases for MySQL and PostgreSQL. You can set up your databases by clicking the Databases tab in your dashboard and following the prompts given there.

Yes! See the full list of our ATS integrations.

CoderPad does not currently support multi-language questions, but we do support language agnostic questions.

The best way to do this is to fill out the “Candidate Instructions” section when you create a question and select “Plain Text” for the question’s language. For the starter code you can just leave a simple prompt that says “Select your language above”.

This will ensure that the instructions are available to the candidate no matter what language they select. More details on how to do this can be found here.

Some companies disable code execution during an interview to reduce emphasis on fixing minor typos, and instead focus on big picture thinking. If you see only one pane instead of two and “Execution Disabled” in the top left corner, that means code execution is disabled.
