Last updated on

Create and link pads directly in Google Calendar or through the Chrome browser extension to help you schedule technical interviews.

Getting the extension

Download the extension from the Chrome Web Store.

Set up

1. Click the plugins button in the nav bar and then click on the CoderPad extension.

✅ Don’t forget to pin the extension to your browser bar. You can do this by clicking on the pin icon in the Extensions menu. The pin icon will turn blue to indicate that it’s pinned to the bar.

2. Enter your API key into the pop-up window and hit Connect.

Using the extension

Once the extension is set up, you have the option of creating a pad either through the broswer plugin itself or through a Google Calendar invitation.

Through the browser plugin

1. To create a pad using the browser plugin, first navigate to the plugin and click on it.

2. In the pop-up window select Create Pad.

3. You’ll then see:

  1. The pad title, which you can edit as needed.
  2. The pad link, which you can copy to send to a candidate or an interviewer.
  3. A button to add the link to a Google Calendar invite.
  4. A button to open up the live pad.

Through a Google Calendar invite

1. Once the extension has been set up, open up your Google Calendar and create an interview invite.

2. Click on Generate CoderPad Link.

3. The invite will prefill with:

  1. An invite title (you can change this as needed)
  2. A button to open up the live pad.
  3. The pad link, which you can copy to send to a candidate or an interviewer.
  4. Meeting notes, which contain a description of the invite, links to our getting started documentation, and another pad link.
