How Cresta Consolidated All Technical Hiring on CoderPad to Scale Eng Hiring

The Challenge: Cresta needed a way to scale its global engineering hiring operation.  

Prior to using CoderPad Screen, CoderPad’s asynchronous technical assessment product, the Cresta talent acquisition team had to carefully review each and every resume to determine who should be passed along to the engineering team for an interview. Without much context on the candidate’s actual abilities, TA leaders had to make the fast decision of moving a candidate forward or not. 

TA and engineering leaders at Cresta realized this process needed to ramp up aggressively to meet their hiring needs, and decided to introduce a step at the front of the process for all engineering roles to sort through the stack of candidates and accurately determine who interviewers should spend time getting to know. 

At the time, Cresta was using another technical hiring tool for this first step for a subset of its engineering roles. Cresta was simultaneously leveraging CoderPad for all technical interviewing. 

The Evaluation: Cresta launched an evaluation process of the various asynchronous technical assessment vendors on the market.

Everyone on our engineering team contributes to interviews so we would need to buy a larger number of interviewer seats, which would not be fully utilized because we try to distribute the interview load.

Reviewing the Screen outcomes allows us to see if the candidate really can write reasonable code, and make decisions based on that. This absolutely scales up our hiring operation
