### [Hiring Developers Remotely: 10 Best Practices](https://coderpad.io/blog/hiring-developers/hiring-developers-remotely-10-best-practices/)

Remote hiring is the new normal. In tech, and across the work world. Indeed, the strong majority of recruiters (70%) say that their tech hiring process is completely remote-friendly ( State of Tech Hiring in 2023 ). However, remote hiring isn’t without its challenges—both for recruiters and candidates. Recruiters say that evaluating so-called “soft skills” or emotional intelligence is the most challenging aspect of remote hiring. It’s considered even more difficult in 2023 (47%) than in 2022 (37%). Developers agree, stating that conveying their personality and communication skills is the trickiest part of a remote hiring process.

### [MySQL SHOW TABLES: A Detailed Guide](https://coderpad.io/blog/development/mysql-show-tables-a-detailed-guide/)

The MySQL SHOW tables command is very appropriately named since it allows you to list tables on a MySQL database. By the end of the post, you’ll have learned: We’ll also cover how listing tables in MySQL compare with other RDBMSs (relational database management systems.) Let’s get started. Requirements There are only two prerequisites if you want to follow along with the examples I’ll give. First, I expect some basic MySQL and SQL knowledge. Also, you should have access to a MySQL local installation.

### [3 Interview Tips for Software Engineer Hiring Managers](https://coderpad.io/blog/interviewing/3-interview-tips-for-software-engineer-hiring-managers/)

Interviewing is hard. If it were up to most of us, we’d wave a magic wand that makes the perfect candidate appear in front of us, ready to code. But the realities of searching for a perfect candidate – let alone one that is even good enough – are much more complex. Those complexities multiply for new hiring managers who are thrown into their first interviews with nothing more than a pile of resumes to go by. Do you really want to know the secret to having a great interview process?

### [Code Challenge: Vue Reusable Input Component](https://coderpad.io/blog/coding-challenges/code-challenge-vue-reusable-input-component/)

Vue is a popular JavaScript library for building frontend applications and user interfaces. It builds on HTML, CSS and JavaScript and employs a declarative model for building components. You can try out Vue on the Vue CoderPad sandbox to have a feel of the library. For this tiny interview, you have two tasks to perform on this Vue application: Please see the instructions written directly in the pad to proceed: 💡 Remember to share your solution with the hashtag #CoderpadTinyInterviews on Twitter and LinkedIn.

### [React-tooltip: A How-To Guide](https://coderpad.io/blog/development/react-tooltip-a-how-to-guide/)

A tooltip is an interface element often appearing on an icon, button, text, or image, like a small popup when you hover your mouse over the trigger element. In some cases, it’s even triggered on a click action. It’s also commonly known as a hint tip or an information tip. Tooltips are a great way to convey additional information for a user’s action. You can also use them to provide a quick how-to for specific user interaction. Since tooltips have a number of use cases, at some point or another, you’re going to need one in your React application. But how do you make a tooltip? Can you create a completely reusable tooltip component in React? Are there any good third-party tooltip packages that you can use?

Companies can no longer throw money around, hoping to land the best candidates. If you want to secure top tech talent, then you need to pay more attention to developers’ wants and needs. So, what makes developers happy and fulfilled? What do they look for in job offers? What would make them go for and stick with an employer?

### [Generative AI and the Future of Technical Interviews: Addressing Concerns of Increased Cheating](https://coderpad.io/blog/hiring-developers/chatgpt-and-the-future-of-technical-interviews-addressing-concerns-of-increased-cheating/)

The current popularity of generative AI (Gen AI) like ChatGPT, Claude, and other large language models (LLMs) has certainly raised no shortage of questions for all of us. These questions seem mostly to be grounded in fear – anxiety that candidates will use these technologies to deceive recruiters about their skills and lead to low-performing new hires within your organization. Due to this, many of the questions we get asked at CoderPad have to do with how to keep ChatGPT from messing up the recruiting process.
