### [Prompt Engineering for Technical Interview Questions](https://coderpad.io/blog/interviewing/prompt-engineering-for-technical-interview-questions/)

As the use cases for Large Language Model (LLM) Artificial Intelligence (AI) flood the internet as more and more people get access, you’ll start to hear more and more talk on prompt engineering . One of the lesser-known buzzwords surrounding products like ChatGPT and Google Bard, prompt engineering is creating and refining your input (i.e., prompts) to get the responses you’re looking for . As advanced as they are, LLM AIs still cannot detect nuance. And much like asking humans to give you answers, you sometimes need to provide feedback to make sure your question is understood so that you can get an appropriate response.

It’s zero hour. You’re in the final round of interviews with three candidates, and your manager is pressing you to pick one to fill the senior dev role you’ve had open for the last seven weeks. You’re looking at your notes , reviewing their answers to the non-technical questions. “What excites you most about this role?” Candidate 1 : “I’m excited to work on new projects with new technology and make an impact on the team with my extensive front-end experience.”

### [CoderPad’s 5 Best Kept Secrets for Effective Interviews](https://coderpad.io/blog/interviewing/coderpads-5-best-kept-secrets-for-effective-interviews/)

The tech industry is unforgiving to those who fall behind, including those who use outdated interview techniques and technology. Whiteboards? How 2016. Panel interviews? You’ll have your candidates bolting out the door. Applicant Tracking Systems , where you have to upload your resume and then fill out the same information in form format? Good luck hiring senior engineers with that nonsense. It’s no different with interview platforms – the last thing you want is for your candidates to feel like they’re coding on Visual Studio 6.0 from 1999. Yeah, the one that came on a disc:

### [Worried About ChatGPT in Coding Interviews? Here’s 3 Ways to Continue Running Great Interviews](https://coderpad.io/blog/interviewing/how-to-design-your-coding-interviews-to-outsmart-chatgpt/)

Remember when you only had to worry about candidates copying and pasting code from StackOverflow? Now there’s a new robot kid on the block, and boy, is it making interviewers and technical recruiters nervous. And rightfully so – it opens a whole new way for candidates to pull the wool over your eyes and fake skills they don’t have, meaning you’ll have a bunch of useless new hires that will cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars.

### [How to Embrace ChatGPT in Technical Interviews](https://coderpad.io/blog/interviewing/how-to-embrace-chatgpt-in-technical-interviews/)

Like all of you – we have been experimenting with ChatGPT. As you may have heard from me before , we at CoderPad aren’t afraid of AI and new technologies. These Large Language Models (LLMs) will not replace developers – but rather make them more efficient. And given that, I’m strongly urging companies to embrace these tools to make technical interviewing better. If you are asking, “Why would I use ChatGPT in the developer interview process when ChatGPT can pass every technical interview?” The reality is that it’s not entirely true.

### [3 Interview Tips for Software Engineer Hiring Managers](https://coderpad.io/blog/interviewing/3-interview-tips-for-software-engineer-hiring-managers/)

Interviewing is hard. If it were up to most of us, we’d wave a magic wand that makes the perfect candidate appear in front of us, ready to code. But the realities of searching for a perfect candidate – let alone one that is even good enough – are much more complex. Those complexities multiply for new hiring managers who are thrown into their first interviews with nothing more than a pile of resumes to go by. Do you really want to know the secret to having a great interview process?
